Meet Jana

Welcome to my world, where compassion and determination are the guiding stars. I'm a single mom of two incredible kids, a devoted dog mom to Luna, and a tenacious advocate for caregivers and those navigating complex medical journeys.

My journey into the world of caregiving wasn't a path I initially chose; it was a path I felt compelled to follow. For over a decade, I dedicated my career to nonprofit fundraising, where I honed my skills in organization, negotiation, and coalition building. I raised millions, but life had other plans.

When my child with special needs and complex medical care required round-the-clock attention, I faced a dilemma. Balancing work and caregiving became untenable. With a deep desire to provide the best care for my child, I left my executive role and ventured into the challenging world of caregiving.

The transition was hard, as I felt like I had lost my independence and value. Going from executive to caregiver felt like an unexpected detour. However, I soon realized that this work was invaluable, and my personal worth wasn't tied to my profession. It was a transformative realization.

I'm often asked how I manage it all. The secret lies in recognizing that I can't do it all alone. I'm tenacious, resilient, and adaptive, but I also know when to ask for help and rally

support. I prioritize what truly matters, and I don't fret over the rest. It's a philosophy that's kept me going through the toughest of times.

Outside of caregiving, I find solace and balance in my passions. Cooking is my therapy; I pore over multiple recipes before attempting something new. Luna, my faithful companion, brings me pure joy through her cuddles. She's not my child's emotional support dog; she's mine. It all boils down to this: if I go down, we all go down. Self-care is non-negotiable.

My journey has inspired me to create Kurantio, a name derived from the Latin word for "caring." Caregiving is universal, and we all provide care in some form. With Kurantio, I aim to be the compass you need to navigate your caregiving journey. Getting a diagnosis doesn't come with a manual, but I can provide you with the compass, maps, and guides to help you navigate the process.

Caregiving is an act of love, strength, and resilience. It's not just my story; it's a story shared by countless others. My mission is simple: to ensure that you never feel alone on your caregiving journey, to empower you with knowledge, and to help you find strength in care.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Together, we can make the path a little brighter, one step at a time.
